The 150th Kentucky Derby

Saddle up for one of the most exciting annual events in horse racing history that is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year with a spectacular show of the best that USA horse racing has to offer.

The Kentucky Derby is an annual event on the first Saturday in May and the Derby is referred to as “The Run for the Roses” due to the winning horse being draped in a blanket of roses.

The race itself is only 1.25 miles and usually lasts only 2 minutes, hence the reference to it as “The Fastest Two Minutes in Sport”.

The Kentucky Derby is the leading horse race in the United States and it’s the most-watched and most-attend in the country.
